Happy Family in Beijing |
|
We came to GCE to study Chinese because we want our adopted daughter to learn and thought we should, too. My wife Louanne and I really enjoyed the time in GCE. The teachers and staff here are great and extremely helpful. We got a good basis for learning Chinese. My family and I will absolutely come back to GCE either next year or two years from now when our little baby grows up, so she can join us and study Chinese. I really want to tell the people who are planning to come to Beijing, just relax and enjoy yourself, everything you need is available here. We are happy to hear that GCE offers a new program for adoptive families.

| Foster Home Visiting |
2008£¬ March 15
Our students (Louanne,Mike and Nadia) visited New Day Foster Home. The New Day Foster Home was built in October 2000 under the umbrella of the New Day Creations Factory and Community Center. The foster home is located in the small town of Qingyundian, 25KM SE of Beijing. The vision of New Day is to make a difference in people's lives, and the foster home is doing just that for the children of China.
With the help of many people who have donated time and given of themselves, the foster home is now fully operational with a well trained staff, excellent medical care and professional facilities.
The foster home is a haven for special children who come from local Children's Welfare Institutes. Most of the children who come to the foster home have minor disabilities that are correctable. Surgeries for the babies are made possible through the donations of supporters and through Doctors and Hospitals who offer their services either at a reduced rate or free of charge.
If you need more information about New Day Foster Home, please visit www.newdaycharities.org
Global Chinese Education will provide all the foreigners who adopted Chinese babies free Chinese Courses. For further details, please call 86-10-51296959

Mid-Autumn Festival Party
Friday, September 14th, 2007
GCE has celebrated the Mid-Autumn Festival by hosting a party inviting Faculty, students, and guests for this special occasion.
At the party there was a Moon cake eating competition, games involving puzzles and riddles. There was also a Tai Chi demonstration presented by Tai Chi Sandai.
What is Tai Chi:
Tai Chi, as it is practiced in the west today, can perhaps best be thought of as a moving form of yoga and meditation combined. There are a number of so- called forms (sometimes also called 'sets') which consist of a sequence of movements. Many of these movements are originally derived from the martial arts (and perhaps even more ancestrally than that, from the natural movements of animals and birds) although the way they are performed in Tai Chi is slowly, softly and gracefully with smooth and even transitions between them.
