 Founded in 2002 with her former name Globelink Interactive Culture Company(www.hantones.com), Global Chinese Education is now more than a private enterprise geared towards developing new and innovative approaches to mastering Chinese language and Chinese culture, we are an organization committed to the idea that, in an era of increasing globalization, diminishing borders, and communication technologies that know no geographic boundaries or bandwidth limitations, that being familiar with the language and culture of those that immediately surround us at home is simply not enough anymore - at the very least restricting oneself to local culture and customs is an imposition on any given person's level of freedom in this brave new world of diminishing restrictions on the flow of people, ideas and capital.
It is out of the above consideration that our founders started to contemplate the possibility of creating an environment with the intent of promoting and making more accessible the idea of the "International Freeperson," that is, an individual who feels just as much at home abroad speaking a language other than his or her mother tongue as he or she does back in his or her country of origin. This idea of enabling those who are willing to expend the needed effort to liberate themselves from the uncertainty and fear that comes with contacting an alien culture and language to do so is central to our philosophy and mission as an organization.
 The Beijing College of Chinese Language Study (BCCLS) forms the core of our language education program and is the "applied" branch of our "language laboratory." BCCLS employs only the most recent and most effective pedagogy in teaching Chinese to foreign students residing in the Beijing area (with a particular emphasis on teaching students whose mother tongue is English). The Global Chinese Education teaching center serves as the hub of GCE's language and cultural programs. Located just east of the Zhongguancun technology district, in the heart of Beijing, the GCE teaching center is easily accessible via subway or public transportation. Those who opt to take their classes at the center will enjoy direct access to our state of the art teaching facilities as well as our International Freeperson Club designed to facilitate cultural and linguistic exchange among students.
